Richard Goulding founded Roaring Fork Engineering (RFE) in 2012 after a decade of experience engineering the Roaring Fork Valley. As Founder and Principal at RFE, he has led the design of infrastructure projects for the City of Aspen Engineering & Water Departments, Pitkin County, the Town of Carbondale, Aspen Consolidated Sanitation District and the Aspen Skiing Company. He is the on-call engineer for Brush Creek Metro, Basalt Sanitation District and the Town of Carbondale, and manages large development projects such as the Aspen Lumberyard and Spring Valley.
Prior to founding RFE, Richard worked for the Aspen Engineering Department and at private engineering firms throughout the Western Slope. He gained considerable municipal experience during those years, acting as the deputy Town Engineer for Palisade, Snowmass, and Starwood, and facilitating design projects for the Mid Valley Metro District, the City of Glenwood Springs, and the Redstone Water and Sanitation District.
Richard is a graduate of The University Cork College where we earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. After obtaining a Registered Professional Engineer license through the State of Colorado in 2005 he went on to complete a Master of Business Administration through the University of Wyoming.
During his 20+ year career in the Roaring Fork Valley, Richard has become a noteworthy leader in the Aspen development community, forming excellent relationships with utility providers, municipal and state government agencies. In his free time Richard is an active member of the outdoor community and volunteers on the Board of Roaring Fork Leadership.
