Evan from RFE fishing

Evan Malloy, EIT

Engineer 1

Evan joined the RFE Environmental team in January 2025 after earning his master’s degree from Colorado State University, where he focused on hydraulic engineering. Before his time with RFE, Evan spent two summers working for a large civil engineering firm in Denver, where he contributed to multiple river restoration and fish passage projects in the state of Washington.

During graduate school, Evan worked at the CSU hydraulics lab, where his research focused on large-scale dam projects throughout the United States. Specifically, he helped design the outworks and stilling basin of the Halligan Reservoir in northern Colorado. At RFE, Evan is excited to bring his knowledge of hydraulics and civil/environmental engineering to the many unique challenges and projects in western Colorado.

Outside the office, Evan enjoys the wide range of recreational opportunities that Carbondale provides, including fly-fishing, skiing, hiking, and running. No matter the season, he can be found enjoying the great outdoors during his free time.
